<p>Tons, perhaps tens of tons, of carbon molecules in dust particles and meteorites fall on Earth daily. Meteorites are especially valuable to astronomers because they provide relatively big chunks of carbon molecules that are easily analyzed in the laboratory. In the past few years, researchers have noticed that most meteorite carbon are molecules called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are very stable compounds and are survivors.</p>

<p>Erst vor einer Woche sorgte ein Foto für Schlagzeilen, das eventuell einen extrasolaren Planeten um einen sonnenähnlichen Stern zeigt. Ein Forscherteam um Astronomen der Universität in Jena hat nun nachgezogen, und ein Bild präsentiert, auf dem ein Objekt zu sehen ist, das um den 550 Lichtjahre entfernten Stern CT Cha kreist. Unklar ist noch, ob es ein Brauner Zwerg oder tatsächlich ein Planet ist.</p>
